Victoria Lovelady, an Olympian Brazilian golf player, led the high school chapel on September 26 at the Pan American Christian Academy (PACA) as an invited guest speaker for the weekly chapel meeting.

Introduced by her close friend and PACA teacher Nanin Kayayan, Victoria Lovelady was invited to give her testimony and speak about her favorite scriptures to the students of PACA.

“She’s my close friend and sister in Christ,” said Kayayan. “God always has the best for her.”

Victoria Lovelady described the story of how she became a woman of Christ. She began her relationship with Jesus Christ as she pursued her passion to become a golfer.  As she continued in her spiritual journey, she has used her passion and talents to talk to others about Jesus.

She also described how she became part of the golf team for the Olympics in 2016 and traveled around the world to play golf.

The main theme of her passage was to “take delight in him,” (Jesus Christ) and she used her own life story as an example.

“This is truly the most valuable thing you can have in your life,” said Lovelady.

She spoke to both the middle school students in their fifth period chapel and to the high school students in their 8th period chapel.  In spite of the warm afternoon, she was able to keep the attention of the students as she talked about complicated subjects such as accepting the goodness of God.

“The topic she chose can really speak to people struggling to accept his goodness,” said Eric Zhang, a freshmen student of PACA.

At the end of chapel, Lovelady also performed an original song that she said had been wanting to perform for a long time, but never did.  She played the music she had composed and sang the lyrics that were written from her own experience.

“I was awake for the song, and it was really good,” said Theo Seiji, a freshman student.

The lyrics reflect on God’s presence in every aspect of her life and thanking him for it. According to Lovelady, it is a song that is very dear to her heart because of the depth of the relationship that any person can experience in Christ.

She shared the lyrics of her song with Mrs. Kayayan and Dr. Meier after the chapel was finished.

Hello My Father
Song written by Victoria Lovelady
Hello My Father
Thank you for calling
Thank you for asking for me
Thank you for caring
And wanting to know
Everything that’s going on within

You know when I raise up
You know when I lay down
You know every thought before it..it exists
Who am I to not open my mouth and sing
Who am I to not call you back immediately

Hello My Father
Thank you for today
And for being here by my side
I don’t know what would I do
If I didn’t have you as my guide

You know when I raise up
You know when in lay down
You know every thought before it..it exists
Who am I to not open my mouth and sing
Who am I to not call you back immediately

Hello My Father
Thank you for calling
Thank you for asking for me
Thank you for caring
And wanting to know
Everything that’s going on within
